Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. I’m 31 and had Sculptra done two years ago. My nasolabial folds look pronounced. What can be done to improve this? I’m looking for a board certified plastic surgeon who is willing to help me find a good solution. A. Nasolabial folds are a natural passive depression created by the skin attachments to the underlying facial skeleton (in ALL patients from infants to seniors) emphasized by the wave of skin which rolls up to it. You may consider fillers injected deep under the upper cheek to volumize and lift the skin wave rather than push it back from the nasolabial fold. Other options based on a proper evaluation include a mid-facelift to suspend the cheek upward toward the eyelids and a short-scar (MACS-style) facelift. I agree, consult with a Board Certified and well experienced Plastic Surgeon or ENT Facial surgeon to provide a proper evaluation and recommendations. Good luck!
