In a facelift, how do surgeons ensure that they preserve the intertragal notch of the ear when making the post-tragal incision?

After face/neck lift and platysmaplasty, I have some neck skin laxity on either side of the midline repair – can this be fixed?

I am 6 months post-op, the laxity either side of platysmaplasty repair is really bothering me. If I pull this skin backward towards the lower ear, it smooths out nicely. Can this be revised by re-opening the incisions behind my ear, or will the incisions in front of the ears/temples also need to be re-opened?

Do all incision scars go through the ‘red & raised’ cycle of healing?

48 year old contemplating a facelift, wondering if there are alternate incision sites? I am asking this question for my mother who is contemplating a facelift. She doesn't like her sagging skin on her cheeks and is wondering if a face-lift will correct this problem.

Why do some doctors want you to wear a compression garment after a facelift/neck lift for a period of time, and others do not require this?
