Plastic Surgeon Dr. Dean Kane of Baltimore Answers Question Regarding Pre and Post- FACELIFT Skin Texture

Dr. Dean Kane | Baltimore MD Facelift

Q. Does skin quality go down after having a facelift?

A. The inflammatory healing process forming collagen, elastin and other structural molecules following a facelift will improve the texture of your skin. Protect your investment with:

  • Sculptra at least once a year following your facelift; you may consider 2 to 3 sessions of Sculptra to stimulate healing and improved texture before your facelift.
  • Obagi, ZO Skin Health exfoliation, skin turn-over stimulation, moisturizing retinoid / hydroquinone therapy and peels, and sunblock before and after facelift.

Aging, weather, UV exposure, smoking, poor diet and other factors will determine how quickly you will return to the passive decline in collagen formation.

Discuss fully with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
