Rhinoplasty is an extremely versatile procedure that can be utilized to resolve a broad range of cosmetic flaws and medical concerns. Through rhinoplasty, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Dean Kane can:
- Create structure within the bridge and/or tip
- Make the nose smaller or longer
- Resculpt and narrow the shape of the bridge
- Smooth bumps along the bridge
- Narrow and/or elevate the nasal tip
- Reduce or adjust the shape and size of the nostrils
- Correct a crooked bridge or nasal tip
- Repair injuries

What Is A Septo-Rhinoplasty?
When men and women have breathing problems this is usually due to a deviated septum. This is the center cartilage and bone that can be curved inside the nose and blocks or obstructs airway inside the nose. By surgically straightening the curvature of the cartilage this allows people to breathe better. The correction of the septum is done at the same time as the correction of the outer bone which is called the Septo-Rhinoplasty.
Can I Just Have The Tip Of My Nose Corrected?
Yes, some women and men only have concerns regarding the appearance of the tip of their noses. The tip can be drooping down too low or appears too wide. Dr. Kane performs tip rhinoplasties alone or with the complete reshaping of the bridge of the nose.

Before & After Nose Surgery

The Rhinoplasty Procedure
Dr. Kane performs nose reshaping under sedation anesthesia. Depending on the specifics of the procedure, he may make incisions along the inside of the nostrils and the columella. Incisions are placed there to provide a better visualization inside the nose that allows Dr. Kane to achieve more precise results. These scars are well hidden and there is little or no visible scarring.
The next steps in the procedure will vary based on what changes the patient would like to make and the treatment plan that Dr. Kane has decided on. If you would like to reduce the size of the nose he may carefully fracture and reset the bone. In order to remove a bump or reduce the nasal bridge width, Dr. Kane will shave away cartilage tissue. The length of time of the rhinoplasty procedure surgery can take one to three hours depending on what is being reshaped.
What Is The Recovery Process After Nose Reshaping?
Since the bone and cartilage in the nose are broken in order to be reshaped the recovery process can include placing small straws inside the nostrils to. Your nose and eyes can swell severely after surgery and the straws will allow the patient to breathe better. In addition to the straws, Dr. Kane will place a plastic clear splint on the outside bridge of the nose to hold the new formed bones together. Patients need to expect to be bruised and swollen in the first 2 weeks and will need to wear the splint for 2 – 3 weeks.
How Much Time Off From Work Do I Need To Take For A Rhinoplasty?
Dr. Kane recommends that patients take off at least 2 weeks from work and activities to let your nose heal. If you work from home, you can be working within a couple of days after your surgery. For the first three months, the nose will hold onto the swelling for up to a year. Patients will visit the office periodically for check up appointments where Dr. Kane makes sure all is healing as planned.

When Will My Rhinoplasty Results Look The Best?
Due to the bone breakage during surgery, the nose can remain swollen for some time. Patients can expect to see their results beginning about 6 months after surgery and can take up to a year later. Patients can return to daily activities after a few weeks, but the nose will continue to settle over a year’s time. Bones in the nose are like bones in the body and when broken they can take a very long time to heal.
What Is The Cost Of A Rhinoplasty?
The cost of the rhinoplasty will depend on how much Dr. Kane needs to correct to achieve your ideal goals. As described above there are a lot of variations in performing surgery of the nose. The costs can range from approximately $7500 to $10,000. We perform the nose reshaping surgeries in the comfort of our fully accredited operating room in our office. These prices include the surgeon fees, operating room and anesthesia which are all the fees associated with the nose surgery.
What Is A Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?
Many women and men have only minor concerns about their noses. Often a small bump they would like to mask, a deep dip from the forehead or they feel their noses are too short. These people don’t want surgery, but would like to see an improvement of their concerns. Dr. Kane can use fillers such as Restylane Lyft or Radiesse to improve these imperfections. Both fillers are excellent to mask the problems and improve the appearance of the nose. The fillers will last approximately a year and will allow the patients to see if they would like to make a permanent improvement with surgery. The cost of the non-surgical rhinoplasty is approximately $750 to $1400 for the fillers.
