Four Options for a Sagging Neck Available at The Center for Cosmetic Surgery and Medspa with Dr. Dean Kane

Here at the Center for Cosmetic Surgery and Medspa in Baltimore, Dr. Dean and Lauri Kane offer you a wonderful range of options from non-surgical to minimally invasive procedures to a surgical neck lift. These options include the following:

  • CoolSculpting for the Neck
  • ThermiTight with Radio Frequency and Silhouette InstaLift
  • Liposuction and Neck Lift Surgery
  • Face and Neck Lift Surgery

CoolSculpting for the Neck with the Cool Mini Applicator

CoolSculpting for the Neck Baltimore MD | Dean P. Kane, MD and Lauri P. Kane,ScD

CoolSculpting of the neck using the Cool Mini Applicator is exceptional at freezing away unwanted fat in the neck. CoolSculpting is an ideal option for the person who has thickness under the neck and along the jowls. CoolSculpting will result in a 20 to 30% reduction of the fat in this area with no downtime.

What is so versatile about the Cool Mini applicator is that it is small enough to fit the different contours of the neck and jaw. We are capable of reducing the thickness of the jowls as well as the neck region. We can use as little as 1 applicator for just the thickness right under the chin and up to 4 applicators for the entire neck and jowls.

There is no downtime, no bruising, no needles or anesthesia. You can drive yourself to the treatment and continue your daily routine the same day. You begin to see the neck slim down in about 4 weeks, but it can take up to 90 days to see the final results.

ThermiTight with Radio Frequency and Silhouette InstaLift

ThermiTight Baltimore MD | Dean P. Kane, MD and Lauri P. Kane,ScD

ThermiTight using Radio Frequency is an excellent minimally invasive procedure for achieving skin tightening of the neck lower face. For people who have skin laxity along their necks, jawline and jowls, ThermiTight uses a very thin probe that is placed under the skin tissues. The probe emits radio frequency energy that stimulates your collagen and elastin that shrinks and tightens skin laxity.

This procedure is done by Dr. Dean Kane who uses a local anesthetic to numb the area before inserting the probe. Patients find the procedure very comfortable with minimal recovery. Dr. Kane considers this type of procedure minimally invasive as there is no surgical removal of skin, no incisions, no suturing and the procedure can be done with just a local anesthetic. The results last up to approximately 3 years.

Non-Surgical Facelift Patient Testimonial

Silhouette InstaLift uses special dissolvable sutures that has little cones along the entire length of the suture. Dr. Kane uses a very thin needle to insert these Silhouette Sutures. Approximately 5 sutures are used on each side of the face to lift the skin along the cheek, the nasal folds, corners of the mouth and the jowls and jawline. They are called InstaLift as you get an immediate lift of your entire face.

The patient above had the combination of ThermiTight of her neck to tighten her the laxity along her neck and jowls and also had the Silhouette InstaLift Sutures to lift the lax tissues of her face. These results are 2 years post her procedures.

Liposuction and Neck Lift Surgery

Liposuction and Neck Lift Baltimore MD | Dean P. Kane, MD and Lauri P. Kane,ScD

Liposuction and Neck Lift Surgery are two options that can be done separately or together by Dr. Dean Kane. For people who feel that their neck, jowls and lower face are very full, thick and lack any definition, Dr. Kane artfully uses Lipo-contouring to sculpt away the fat from the lower face, jowls and entire neck, leaving his patients with a beautiful high cheek bone appearance and the lower face with a beautiful and slender definition.

The Neck Lift with Platysmaplasty which is the tightening of the neck muscles is used when patients are unhappy with the skin laxity and banding of their neck tissues. The neck appears to be hanging lower down. A great comparison is when a hammock is tied to a tree and it sits out year after year. It begins to get lower to the ground and bellows out. Generally you would re-tie the hammock and make it nice and tight again. The same is done with the neck muscles, Dr. Kane restores the neck muscles into a very tight suspension between the two ears. He creates a tight neck structure giving the neck back its youthful contour appearance.

Many times people have both issues, such as the patient above, she has  fullness of the neck due to excess fat in the neck as well as skin laxity. Dr. Kane performed both the platysmaplasty or neck suspension at the same time as the liposuction to both contour and tighten the neck. Dr. Dean Kane performs these procedures in the comfort of our fully accredited operating room under light sedation anesthesia. The recovery will take from 1-2 weeks, but the results are long term with lasting beautiful contours of the lower face.

Face and Neck Lift Surgery

Face and Neck Baltimore MD | Dean P. Kane, MD and Lauri P. Kane,ScD

Face and Neck Baltimore MD | Dean P. Kane, MD and Lauri P. Kane,ScDFace and Neck Lift Surgery is the ideal option when there is just too much skin laxity and the minimally invasive procedures won’t be effective. The only way to take care of skin laxity is to surgically remove the excess tissues. We have a phrase at Dr. Kane’s office, “when you can pinch an inch of skin on your neck and jawline you are a face lift candidate.”

There are two options that are available to our patients. One option is to just focus on the skin on the face and neck as well as the muscles of the face. This would be considered a SMAS Face Lift.  The scars are limited to just the sideburns, inside the edge of the ear and behind the ear. The second option adds in the Platymaplasty procedure which is the tightening of the neck muscles which was described above.  In the pictures above, both patients had the SMAS Facelift as well as the Playstymaplasty of their neck muscles. Some people don’t need both procedures and we determine which options will be best during the face and neck consultation.

Since the bottom picture is me, Lauri Kane, I am always available to our patients to describe my personal experience. To learn more, I wrote a blog on how I made my decision to have a facelift and it shows actual pictures of my recovery at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 4 months. The above picture is one year later. Go to https://drdeankane.com/category/lauris-beauty-tips/ to read my personal facelift blog. The key behind Dr. Kane’s face and neck lifts are that all his results are truly natural and never overdone.
