Would Botox help my heavy brow problem (you can see I have a shadowing darkening just above my crease that I’m conscious of.) How can I help my face-shape be not so long with non-surgical methods?

Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. Hi I would love some help as I’m a little lost. Would Botox help my heavy brow problem (you can see I have a shadowing darkening just above my crease that I’m conscious of.) How can I help my face-shape be not so long with non-surgical methods? I have had one session of cheek filler and I’m due for more. Will this correct the problem? I feel like my face can be horsey and my chin is prominent when I smile. A. I visualize your concerns and would like you to consider my recommendations with consultation to an artsy and well experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or ENT Facial Surgeon.
  • I see a long and slender nose which curves softly into your brow arch, around your mid-cheek and down to your chin creating a lovely “heart” shape.
  • You have a high forehead but your wave of hair or bangs hide this and provide a seemingly well-proportioned middle and lower face.
  • The  make-up applied to your eyes, brows and lips beautifully highlight these features and in so doing add depth, interest, reflections and shadows to your cheeks.
  • Accent your brows with Botox to lift the brow and making a higher arch. It will reduce forehead height as well.
  • I note bilateral temporal hollowing and with mid and lateral cheek filler, I believe the slightly wider upper face will rebalance the “long” face appearance and fill out the upper “heart” shape you desire.
  • I like your chin projection but I am afraid that “adding” filler to your chin will only widen the chin rather than “de-accent” it. You may wish to strengthen your jawline by adding filler on the bone along the back of the jaw angle below your ear.
  • Your first (make-up) photo shows natural asymmetries. Your lip is not horizontal due a “longer” facial skeleton on your left face and slightly wider facial skeleton on the right (all expected and normal, unless your dentition is not correct). Consider Botox in the left DAO muscle to see if the left lip corner will rise a touch.
You have an interesting and lovely face. The above are minor contributions to achieve greater appearance of symmetry and balance.  Good luck. I wish you well.
