Has Thermitight ruin my neck?

Plastic Surgeon Dr. Dean Kane of Baltimore Answers Question Regarding ThermiTIGHT

Q. I had ThermiTIGHT done 2 months ago. I have noticed my skin having a crepey appearance when I stick my neck out. I did not have this texture before ThermiTIGHT. Is this a normal process some patients skin goes through before it tightens? A.  ThermiRF is a radio-frequency energy device targeting skin tightening. Prior “lasers” including ultrasound and various wavelength lasers have tried to penetrate the skin in order to get the effects now seen with ThermiTIGHT. ThermiTIGHT has not ruined your neck. Initially there is a shrinking effect due to the direct heating of the undersurface of the skin. A controlled repair mechanism stimulates the firming and tightening of the skin with the integration of new collagen, elastin and structural dermal molecules. You will also notice new outer skin texture and improved color due to stimulated skin turnover. I believe what you are noticing is the tightening of the neck with scar or collagen bands as part of this tightening repair mechanism. Approximately 3 month following the ThermiTIGHT procedure, remodeling and softening of this collagen will provide you an overall improvement. This has been found to last over 18 months in clinical evaluations.   You may wish to augment your care and rejuvenation effects with:
  1. deep massage
  2. ThermiSMOOTH
  3. ZO Skin Health
