Facial sagging at 25 after dramatic weight-loss; can I solve it?

Plastic Surgeon Dr. Dean Kane of Baltimore Answers Question Regarding Facial Sagging

Q. I got into an accident 4 years ago and lost about 7 kg’s, fast. Since then I’ve noticed my face sag and there’s also swelling below my right eye then there’s a hollow section below that then swelling again and discoloration towards the right of my lip. It’s mostly obvious on the right side. I also loss my taste and smelling senses. I did get Rhinoplasty done almost one year before the accident, but I was told that rhinoplasty has nothing to do with facial sagging. Any solutions? A. So sorry for your troubles. Trauma can cause swelling and stretching of the tissue. Weight loss and stress will also cause reduced repair, fat and collagen loss. I notice some oiliness and blemishes as well. Sorry about the loss of taste and smell. Those maybe from the trauma directly to the nose with loss of smell and associated taste. Only time will tell regarding their return. You should consult with a talented and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for skin rejuvenation, facial volume and skin tightening. I recommend:
  1. ZO Skin Health skincare for skin rejuvenation and chemical peel tightening
  2. Fillers or fat grafting for the asymmetric cheek and eyelid hollows you describe
  3. Consider ThermiRF for subdermal or direct skin tightening.
I hope this will help restore your personal confidence! All the best!   This information is not meant as medical advice. It is provided solely for education. Our practice would be pleased to discuss your unique circumstances and needs as they relate to these topics.
