Q: I had CoolSculpting done 12 days ago. I have two long red lines on my stomach. The red lines are not bruised. They don’t hurt and I have used Arnica to try and get them to go away. Still no change. I’m so upset because I leave for the beach in two weeks and I can’t wear a bathing suit with my stomach showing. I was told it is non invasive and now I have red lines in the middle of my abdomen that will not go away. What could this be and what I can do?
A: Red lines or bruising are side-effects of CoolSculpting. Each individuals tissues will react differently. The good news is that this is temporary and indicates a good treatment. Ways to hasten the redness include:
- Massage of the area will improve the discoloration.
- Fresh pineapple with the active enzyme bromelain has been most helpful in reducing bruising.
- Use of oral and / or topical Arnica montana may improve the redness quicker.
- If this persists, follow up with your CoolSculpting Team.
Good luck with your CoolSculpting results!
