Plastic Surgeon Dr. Dean Kane of Baltimore Answers Question Regarding Botox for Chest Muscle Hypertrophy

Q. Botox on chest muscle. The muscle has recurred after 3 months. Is this normal? I’m a 29 year old male and about 3 months back I had Botox injected into my chest to reduce the bulky appearance. it worked for 3 months and now the muscle has recurred. Is this normal? I’m told to go back again for another round of Botox.

A. If, in fact, you do have muscle hypertrophy and not a fuller appearance from underlying rib prominence, repeated Botox injections will serially weaken and atrophy the muscle.

Botox effects last an average of 3 months. You will need to return for more.

All the best!
