Having said this, each practice and each surgeon provides a differing level of skill, understanding and care. Dr. Kane is proud of over 23 years of practice. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the ASPS; with a commitment in personal education exceeding his yearly requirements in medical education. He has studied and received a secondary Board Certification in Anti-Aging Medicine and received his Certificate of Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, ASAPS. As a “out of the box” thinker, he has shown competency and creativity in the use of non-surgical injectibles such as Botox and Dysport and the fillers Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Radiesse, Selphyl and Evolence.
Following 30 years of specialty in wounds and reconstruction with multiple publications in “Chronic Wound Care” and membership in the American Academy of Wound Management, Dr. Dean Kane has focused on the refined aspects of his cosmetic surgery practice. Whether with breast lift, breast augmentation, facelift, neck lift, eyelid lift, nose reshaping, tummy tucks, liposuction or body contouring surgery, Dr. Kane has created the art as well as mastered the technical skills to blend balance, beauty and harmony. Dr. Kane remains on the teaching academic staff of the Johns Hopkins Division of Plastic Surgery providing lectures and resident training for the ever-changing refinements in aesthetic surgical procedures and surgery. He serves the public and his patients by fully understanding the standards of care expected in our local, national and global community with his consultation as a medical-legal expert. Combined with his active membership and Presidency in the John Staige Davis Maryland Plastic Surgery Society and charity to the Susan G. Komen for the (breast cancer) Cure, Red Devils Supporting Breast Cancer Families and the Kelly Melanoma funds, Dr. Dean Kane, his wife, Lauri and his staff contribute to community services. Our aestheticians, nurses and technologists are proud to maintain the highest standards of credentialing in their fields. We maintain yearly accreditation of our surgical center with AAAASF (the American Association of Accredited Ambulatory Surgical Facilities), BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and Dr. Kane retains hospital credentialing and privileges for all the procedures he performs in his ambulatory office operating suite.

We are a husband and wife practice which allows us to provide a warm and caring approach in a very sophisticated beautiful and homey like office.

away from performing what is the right procedure for the right

Dean always puts the safety of the patient
first and foremost. So he gets excellent results while being conservative for the safety of the patient.
Dean will use cutting edge technology when he believes it is appropriate, but will also go with the traditional when that is appropriate.
The bottom line is that each patient gets very individual approaches and we try very hard to match the approach with the patient.
My role in the patient experience is to provide the woman’s touch. I first see the patient and truly listen to what her issues and concerns. I get an overall assessment about the patient, health history, social history, emotional issues, financial capabilities, try to get any hidden agendas, family issues, etc. By the time Dr. Kane enters the room, you and I have already figured out what is the best approach for you. I am a patient advocate. The patient knows that I have truly listened to what she wants and I explain what she wants to Dean. The patients can rely on me to be honest with my opinion and help her focus on what she came in for. I am very easy going and caring about all our patient needs and they know that they can call me for any problems or questions any time.
I try to be extremely personable, but I educate the patient on the procedures with a simple explanation that women can identify with. I am easy to talk to and I give all our patients my cell phone number so that they can call me any time of day or night. We are totally accessible to our pts nearly 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We carry our phones when we travel and answer patients calls wherever and whenever they call. Our office is close to our
home so it is easy for us to see a patient in the evenings or weekends with problems of concern.

They are an excellent staff who follows our philosophy extremely well. Our staff are all friendly, helpful and caring to all our patients. Patients say that they love just coming to our office, they love our home like atmosphere, they love the way they are always treated and they truly enjoy seeing us.
We have a unique patient demographic with an wide patient base. We have from the very wealthy and VIPs in our community to middle and lower financial classes. Baltimore has a very high ratio of African Americans and increasing mix of Hispanic and Asian clients. So, we have a practice very rich in diversity from racial mix to ethnic mix. We pride ourselves on this diversity of patients. As a result, we have special lasers to cover the span of color of skin tones. Our Skin program, using the Obagi program has shown tremendous success for all color tones, our before and after pictures are incredibly affective.
We are also unique in that we are a one stop shop. Our medspa offers all skin products, laser services, facials, massages. We have a weight loss program run by a highly qualified nurse practitioner. We have a complete, fully accredited surgery center run by a incredible nurse anesthetist who mainly uses twilight to deep sedation. We perform the vast majority of all our surgeries in our office from facelifts, eyelids, brow lifts and nose jobs to tummy tucks, liposuctions and breast surgery including augmentation lifts, reductions and reconstructions. Almost all patients prefer an office OR than to have to go to the hospital.
Our practice is a national training center for Botox, Restylane, Juvederm and Obagi, which means we are experts in these areas. Dean teaches other physicians on how to use these products and has been known for his unique out of the box.
