Can a woman 66 year old have a mid-facelift with upper eyelid surgery and a tummy tuck at the same time?

Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. Can a woman 66 year old have a mid-facelift with upper eyelid surgery and a tummy tuck at the same time? I am healthy and on no prescription medications, only vitamins. A. Combining surgical procedures is common but should raise some concerns. Consider the following: Are you healthy enough for a prolonged surgical procedure? General anesthesia or sedation? Who will assist you in your recovery? Who will transport you to and from the surgery center or post-operative visits? How will you deal with pain / discomfort from multiple body areas? Will you have drains or dressings to care for? At 66 you may have underlying issues which need no medications but may add risk for complications. Do you have nutritional reserves to heal multiple areas of surgery? Have you discussed your desires with your medical internist and your Board Certified surgeons. If you consider a recovery period of 4 to 6 weeks following a tummy tuck, do this first and stage your facelift and eyelid surgery 2 to 3 weeks later when you are more mobile, the drains are out and you can now care for your face surgery and still recover all in the same time period. Good luck with your desires! Happy Holidays!
