Does Restylane work for chest wrinkles?

Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. Does Restylane work for chest wrinkles? I ave no time for fraxel or peel until AFTER summer, would any kind of filler work/help? A. Sculptra is a wonderful product to stimulate dermal production of collagen and other skin supportive molecules such as elastin, hyaluronic acid and others. In turn, these firm and thicken the skin against thinning and wrinkling. You will also see improved texture and color changes. Its downside is the time it takes to stimulate this productive phase of skin repair. Expect 3 months or longer to begin to see and feel improvement. You may also wish to consider Restylane SILK. This newly introduced filler to the US provides a smoothening and filling of fine lines typically seen in the decollate’ and should / chest skin you present. Unlike prior fillers, it has less projection and therefore will provide near immediate texture smoothness. Many of our patients choose a combination of both Sculptra for the longer effect (up to 2 years and more) with an immediate short term improvement from the Silk. Certainly, there are other non-surgical options such as fractionated CO2 / erbium laser, IPL, retinoids, TCA chemical peels to consider. Each options carries with it, its own set of side-effects and complications but each has advantages too to weigh into. Please consider consultation with a well experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist to assess what is best for you. All the best!
