Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. My eyes look small when I smile and it looked like the upper lids are dropping when I’m relaxed. I’m only 18 years ago. Would Botox help in opening up my eyes to make them bigger and more awake? If so, how much would it cost? I would like my eyes to appear more symmetrical.
A. The balance of closing or opening the eye and reducing wrinkles can be changed with the use of Botox. Botox works by blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscle and thereby relaxing the muscles it is injected into.
The manufacture of Botox requests approval from the FDA for marketing a safe and effective drug. Outside the age of 18 to 65 years, Botox Cosmetic use is off-label for glabella lines. Please consult with a Board Certified, well experienced Plastic Surgeon or ENT Facial Surgeon to examine your desires and make his or her recommendations.
