In Baltimore, facial rejuvenation often includes a brow lift, sometimes called a forehead lift, for men and women. That’s because horizontal creases along the forehead and furrows between the brows can cause you to appear angry, sad, tired, or older than you really are. Aging, sun damage, and genetics can further intensify the appearance of these visible wrinkling and laxity.

Surgical Brow Lift in Baltimore with Dr. Dean Kane
In our Maryland plastic surgery practice, Dr. Dean Kane utilizes the brow lift procedure to diminish the visibility of wrinkles and the appearance of a drooping forehead and eyebrows. By redefining the natural eyebrow arch, smoothing the forehead and removing excess skin, brow lift surgery can create a more rested, youthful appearance that makes patients look years and in some cases decades younger.
Where are the Incisions for Surgical Brow Lift?
Dr. Kane places the incisions along the hairline edge where the scars are well hidden and men’s and women’s hair can grow threw the incisions. Dr. Kane takes away the excess skin lifting the eyebrows into a beautifully arched appearance.

Is the Brow Lift Part of the Face and Neck Lift?
Many patients combine a brow lift with a facelift surgery so that their lower face and neck are lifted at the same time as their brows. There has been a misunderstanding that the brow lift is automatically part of the face lift. This misunderstanding stems from 1960’s to 1980’s when the prior generation of plastic surgeons automatically included the coronal brow lift with their face lifts.
In today’s face and neck lift surgery, Dr. Kane begins his incisions along the outer edge of the sideburn to down below and around the ears. These incisions will tighten the face from below the eyes, cheeks, jowls and neck. If patients want to include a brow lift, Dr. Kane considers this a separate aspect of the surgery and this can be completed at the same time as the face and neck lift. Some patients do their brows at the same time and others wait for a future time.

Recovery from Your Brow Lift
Following brow lift surgery, you can expect mild to moderate discomfort that can be controlled with either prescription or over-the-counter medication. Most people find they can discontinue medication after just a few days. You may experience tenderness and some light swelling for several days.
People who undergo a brow lift procedure by itself can usually return to work in a week. If you choose to have a brow lift in combination with other facial rejuvenation surgery in Baltimore, you’ll probably want to plan to take two to three weeks off from your normal routine.

What are Non-Surgical Brow lift Options in Baltimore with Dr. Kane
Most patients opt to rely on Botox, Dysport or NewTox to get a non-surgical brow lift. Dr. Kane’s injecting skills can artfully get a beautiful arched eyebrows. With the new Botox called Jeuveau or as it is called NewTox, Dr. Kane is achieving a very powerful lift and arch to the brows.
What do I use for all the deep lines on my forehead?
For many patients who have very deep furrows and wrinkles on the forehead and only want a non-surgical approach, then a combination of fillers and a muscle relaxer like NewTox, Botox or Dysport will be a great duo. These muscle relaxers will stop the ability to squeeze the forehead muscles so the patient stops being able to make the creases. Then Dr. Kane uses Restylane to fill in the furrows and will plump out the wrinkle. The filler lasts a year and patients are extremely happy with this fantastic combination.
What is a Non-Surgical PDO Thread Brow Lift?
Both PDO EuroThreads and Silhouette Instalift Sutures can be used to non-surgically lift the skin of the eyebrows and reduce the hooding of the upper eyelids. Through a tiny puncture sight, Dr. Kane inserts the threads without any incisions or stitches. Dr. Kane uses the threads to gently lift the skin up toward the hairline leaving a beautiful arch of the brows. This Thread Brow Lift is good for patients who have a mild upper eyelid hooding and who want a gentle arch to the brows.
How to Determine the Ideal Brow Lift Options?
It is always recommended to have a full evaluation by Dr. Kane who will guide you to determine which method is suited for your needs. What is great is if you should decide that Botox, Dysport or NewTox is the right option versus a surgical brow lift then you can receive this treatment at the same time as your consultation.
