Will the Mini Facelift work on a black 55 yr old female?

Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. I have nasal and smile lines and heavy eyelids I look tired when I’m not. What can I do? Without much pain. I’m a hair stylist and self employed. Help! Does the mini facelift work on black women? A. While limited, it does show descent of the upper cheek soft tissues (fat), heaviness in the jowls and neck and  skin waves along  the nasolabial and marionette folds. By definition, the “mini” facelift is limited to small incisions and therefore decreased lifting power. It is used mostly in younger patients where skin laxity or excess along the jawline can be redraped and removed along the front of the ear or in those facial aging patients who have undergone a prior facelift. When more tissues need to be repositioned, lipocontoured, suspended or lifted, a more traditional face and neck lift are needed. I hope you will consult with a talented and Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to properly examine you and determine what options are in your best interest. All the best!   This information is not meant as medical advice.
