What is the difference between Restylane Lyft and Sculptra?

Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. What is the difference between Restylane Lyft and Sculptra?   A. Restylane Lyft (rebranded Perlane) is a hyaluronic acid (HA) gel filler with moderate projection and moderate volumizing effects. HA’s, I find have very little inflammatory collagen building effects. Sculptra, while categorized as a filler has more distinct bioactivity. Sculptra is a suspension of poly-L lactic acid. It seems to stimulate production of structural molecules of the tissues it is injected into such as collagen, elastin, HA and others. It appears to stimulate regeneration of cells and a provide a more rejuvenated skin surface as well. While Lyft is filling and projecting, Sculptra stimulates more firming and resistance qualities to the skin. Lyft effects are immediate and Sculptra takes 3 months or more to peak in activity. Many other fillers are available to be reviewed with your Board Certified Injector. All the best!
