Q. Does the cost of a face lift generally include tightening of the neck? Mother is around 65 and recently lost lot of weight. She’s looking for overall face refresh but also needs tightening of her neck. Does a facelift generally include cost of neck tightening?
A. The procedure “facelift” covers a lot of territory these days. Unfortunately, the procedure is not consistent across all physicians.
Today,
- The standard facelift covers the cheekbone to the jawline.
- The brow or forehead lift elevates the tissues from the cheekbone to the hairline, and
- The standard neck lift from the jawline to the thyroid cartilage.
Skills, talent, experience and education are different among non-residency trained facelift physicians (not all are surgeons) compared to the Board Certified and Aesthetically Trained Plastic Surgeons, Facial ENT Surgeons and rare Oral Surgeon.
While the concept of a face lift is to separate, lift and redrape the skin and soft tissues, each physician may or may not use the same techniques and therefore not acquire the same results. Nor may they examine you the same and select the best procedure for your needs.
Please obtain one or more consultations from Aesthetically Trained, talented and experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeons or Facial ENT Surgeons for your best chance at a proper evaluation and most optimal results. I hope this is helpful. I wish you the best.
