Is CoolSculpting of the chin effective?

Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. Hi, I would like to know if CoolSculpting of the chin is effective in decreasing a “double shutterstock_80557357chin”. I have checked out websites but they all have the same before and after photos of a few patients and I haven’t been able to locate any actual reviews on whether or not it is successful. Opinions? Thank you. A. CoolSculpting for the “double chin” using the CoolMini applicator is about 1 month old but the cooling technology is the same and our first use patients note comfort and the same changes they experienced with CS elsewhere. I would anticipate similar results of up to ‘25%’ improvement. With a good expectation as yours, ie. “decreasing” and not eliminating the double chin, I suspect you will be pleased. Each patient has a different submental / neck fat and skin distribution. CS will not tighten skin but I expect the the skin will shrinks around the fat loss. You may require more than on treatment session and if the applicator fits, you may overlap and extend the applicator along a wider area of the neck. Remember that the loss of fat may unmask any natural neck deformities such as submandibular gland ptosis or separation of the platysma muscle with banding. I hope this is helpful. All the best!   This information is not meant as medical advice. It is provided solely for education.
