I’m still very swollen and in pain. What can I do about this?

Dr. Dean Kane Q & A Q. I had CoolSculpting done 8 days ago. I am feeling lots of pins and needles in my numb belly along with periodic stabbing pains. My fat was so frozen when she removed the large device which I had 2 large going down to my belly button. She had to massage for at least 5 torturous minutes. My belly feels 2 times the size. A. Everything you have described is expected following CoolSculpting (CS) of the tummy. Initially, the fat and the nerves will thaw and develop a swelling response early in the healing phase. As the fat undergoes its transformation and die, the tissues will firm up from collagen formation. It will then soften and you will see the results. With anything beyond this, you should call your CS physician and have him or her re-evaluate your progress. Good luck with your CS results! All the best.   This information is not meant as medical advice. It is provided solely for education.
