Q. Are there any special preparations you recommend prior to CoolSculpting? For example, avoiding tanning, taking arnica and stopping Advil?
A. A gel liner is used between the skin and the CoolSculpting applicator to protect both. The skin should be free of moisturizers, irritations, pustules or injection, sun-burn, any recent use of bronzers or other chemicals, viral sores or pain, hernia or any other concern that would alter the CoolSculpting effect, potentiate pain or a create a complication. Arnica, NSAIDs ( such as Advil, Naprosyn, aspirin and other like products) may act like blood thinning agents and cause more bruising. This is a good question and should be discussed at the time of evaluation with your Certified CoolSculpting Specialist in preparation for your procedure(s).
