Dr. Dean Kane Q & A.shutterstock_60935557 Q. I’m 31 and my mid face has sagged slightly because of the weight I have lost. Even though I regained weight, it obtained no result. I would like a mild facelift treatment to get that youthful look back, but don’t feel ready for surgical options. A. Thank you for sharing your photos! You appear thin with good skin tone and color. These are positive traits to work with. Weight loss, family genetics and aging certainly play a role but today there are rejuvenating options not available even 5 and 10 years ago. In my experience, thinner women with to retain their svelte appearance with youthful but selective fullness in the middle and lateral cheeks, and firm their skin. This will “lift” the folds of the naso-jugal, naso-labial and marionette skin laxity while improving facial firming and skin texture and color. Please consider: Skin firming with improved texture changes can be achieved with: 1. Retinoids such as Retin-A and retinol and the ZO (Obagi) Skin Health Therapeutic Systems; including chemical peels 2. Sculptra to firm and “shrink” skin Volume redistribution and fold filling will help: 1. Voluma, Juvederm Ultra Plus or Perlane in the cheeks 2. Juvederm or Perlane / Restylane for the nasolabial folds, corners of the mouth and marionette folds. Very minimal lip hydration with Juvederm or Restylane; do not overfill them, just to plump out the lines. It is paramount to consult with a well trained, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, ENT facial surgeon or Dermatologist to examine you and review your options and continued care. I wish you the very best!
