Question from Liverpool, GB Hi I had Botox for my frown lines and 1ml of juvederm lip filler exactly two weeks ago. I’ve still total movement in my forehead and my lips look virtually the same appart from a dint in my lip. I’ve had these treatments before and never experienced this. The nurse who treated me has said its localised swelling in my lips even though there is no volume never mind swelling. She’s now ignoring all contact from me. Is there anything I can do?

There are many reasons to review when injectible muscle relaxers and fillers “don’t work”.
These include:
- 1 not enough of either
- 2 injection of the medication in the wrong level or site
- 3 dilution
- 4 injectors technique
- 5 other considerations
Most individuals would desire to maintain a longer relationship with you and try to work things out. Apparently, this nurse is not interested in doing so.
It would be my recommendation to obtain a copy of the documentation by the injector and arrange and review your concerns with another board certified plastic surgeon or well experienced expert injector.
