Silhouette InstaLift

Across Maryland, the minimally invasive procedure known as the Silhouette InstaLift Facelift, has generated much excitement. It’s no wonder, considering that with this procedure many patients can benefit from immediate lifting of the facial skin, a short recovery time with no visible scars and no invasive surgery. The name says it all: you get an instant lift at the completion of the procedure.

What Is Silhouette InstaLift?

The Silhouette InstaLift if a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure that lifts the skin laxity of the face and neck using special dissolvable sutures without any cutting or removal of the face skin. Just by inserting a long needle with these special anchoring sutures, the skin laxity is instantly lifted to give you an instant non-surgical face lift.

How does the Silhouette InstaLift Work?

Dr. Dean Kane performs the Silhouette InstaLift  by placing special anchoring sutures under the skin that pulls the lax skin of the face and neck upward toward the temple hairline lifting the skin of the nasal folds, jowls and turkey neck.

There are tiny cones structures along the sutures that are attached to a very long thin needle. After first injecting a local anesthetic to numb the face and neck, Dr. Kane then uses the long needles to insert the Silhouette Sutures under the skin tissues of the face, neck and brow.

To obtain an entire face and neck lift, Dr. Kane recommends at least 5 sutures for each side of the face and 2 sutures for each side of the neck. Dr. Kane also uses 2-4 Silhouette Sutures in the brow to create a non-surgical brow lift especially when Botox and Dysport are no longer effective to lift the brows.

For this unique, minimally invasive procedure, Dr. Kane will use the Silhouette sutures that have bidirectional cones to redirect and tighten the skin on your face. The superficial layers of the skin gently lift the cheeks, jowls and upper neck. Patients see an immediate lifting effect within several weeks when the underlying tissue heals into its new position. The dissolving sutures then stimulate your own natural collagen that provides an even greater tightening and firming of the face tissues.

The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia with Pro-Nox. Pro-Nox is a self-administered “laughing gas” that patients breathe in when feeling any anxiety and pain and get an immediate relief. Click here to learn more about how  Pro-Nox works.

In our Baltimore Center for Cosmetic Surgery and Medspa we have a fully accredited operating room suite in which we can provide Twilight  IV sedation as an option for patients who prefer a light sleep. The Silhouette InstaLift procedure normally takes about 2 hours.

Who Are Good Candidates For Silhouette InstaLift?

The Silhouette InstaLift works well for people of all ages and all ethnic backgrounds. For example, patients who are younger with early skin laxity, as well as older patients who do not want to undergo an invasive facelift procedure due to medical issues. Silhouette InstaLift is even ideal for those patients who have had a previous traditional facelift in the past and are seeking to simply refresh their faces again.

This procedure is an option for smokers and medically high-risk patients, and for people who would rather avoid general anesthesia. The InstaLift is popular with men who are excited about the possibility of a natural-looking lift without scarring, especially if they are bald or have a receding hairline. Patients can expect to achieve the following face lift effects:

  • Repositioning of the cheeks and jowls
  • Reducing the naso-labial and marrionette folds
  • Creating a well-defined jaw line

To achieve optimal results, careful patient selection is key. As one of the first surgeons in the country to perform the procedure, Dr. Dean Kane is highly experienced in choosing appropriate candidates and performing the procedure with precision. Wondering whether the Silhouette InstaLift is a good choice for you? The best way to find out is to request a consultation with Dr. Kane.

Yes, Dr. Kane has used the Silhouette InstaLift sutures with other facial cosmetic procedures such as

  • Combining with lipo-contouring and a surgical neck lift to rejuvenate the lower face
  • Combining with a short scar brow lift to smooth the forehead
  • Combining the ThermiTight for added jowl and neck tightening
  • Combining with ThermiSmooth to smooth the fine wrinkles around the mouth, eyes and forehead.

How Silhouette InstaLift And ThermiTight Works

How Long Will The InstaLift Last?

With the InstaLift procedure, you can expect results to last for about 18 months. This is a facial rejuvenation as opposed to a traditional facelift, so results are not permanent. Over time, the sutures will dissolve naturally in the skin as the aging process continues.

What is the Recovery for Silhouette InstaLift?

Following the procedure, any minor pain can be controlled with over the counter medication. Patients often experience some bruising and swelling for a few days, but less than they would have with a traditional facelift. Most Maryland residents may engage in light activity the day following their Silhouette InstaLift and return to work without exertion in 1 to 5 days.

How does Silhouette InstaLift compare to the ThreadLift?

While Dr. Dean Kane was extremely successful with the Threadlift Procedures 10 years ago, the company Contour ThreadLift stopped manufacturing the threads. Fortunately, a new and improved type of sutures are now being created by Silhouette InstaLift. The Silhouette Company has created sutures that are dissolvable. As they dissolve, they are not only lifting the tissues of the face and other body areas, but stimulating your own collagen to firm and tighten your skin. For those people who are familiar with Sculptra, Silhouette InstaLift uses the same collagen stimulating substance called poly-l-lactic acid.

The Silhouette InstaLift provides very similar results to the ThreadLift that Dr. Kane was able to attain for over hundreds of his Baltimore patients using the Contour ThreadLift procedure. For his patient below, he combined the Threadlift procedure on this patient’s cheeks and jowls with a Neck Lift with Platysmaplasty, Upper Eyelids surgery and an Obagi Controlled Depth Peel. She gave us 6 weeks to look her best for her wedding date. She was extremely pleased and looked beautiful for her wedding day.
